Golf lesson question?

seniors pga
Zack K asked:

There is a local golf pro who won a Senior PGA open event in like 2005. His name is Mike Zwick. He said for 40 bucks he said that we would play nine holes and give me instruction on anything I need help on and then we would go to the range and work on more stuff. My goal is ultimately to go to college to play golf, pay for med school, then go pro and try for the nationwide tour. Mike said he would help me as much as he could to get to that level. So does that sound like a good price for lessons?

Should I attend my son’s high school graduation in 3 weeks ?

A Dad asked:

I’ve been a single dad since he was 1 and always had him 50%. I made him my priority every day. After 8th grade he fought constantly about homework. I coached all of his 4 sports for 9 years that he played. I held him accountable for homework on a weekly basis, and took the car away, X-Box, etc when he didn’t do it. Back in September I caught him smoking pot (found pipe and scale) and took the car away for 30 days. He left and has lived with his mom since (she bought him a SUV 2 weeks later. He never worked even in the summers. In his Junior year I spent $30,000+ on taking him to Houston (5 times) to work with a PGA Swing coach for golf, putting a driving range in our garage with a putting green, and summer tournaments. He was in the top 2-3 golfers at his school as a Junior. Since he left he has 22 Tardy’s , 20 days he has missed 1 to 4 classes, and 10 more sick days at school to total 52 days affected for the year. He also doesn’t have 1st hour as he opted out of study hall as a senior (doesn’t have to be at school until 8:30 a.m., and lives 5 minutes away) He had 21 missing or late assignments at the end of the last grading period, and had 1-F and 2-D’s. The best part is his mom is a teacher at the school. He quit Golf tryouts after a week, as he hasn’t worked out or practiced since September. He was shooting in the 50’s for 9 holes. I’ve talked to him several times since September, but he will not even stay at my House even 1 night a week. He says he loves me, and wants to have a relationship with me, but won’t stay at my house. I didn’t call or get him a present for his birthday or Christmas.

Question about college golf?

senior golf
Zack K asked:

I am a freshman in high school and really want to play college golf. Last year I was on the varsity team as the number 4 guy with two juniors and one other freshman in front of me. Last year I would average around mid 90s for 18 holes. This year I should be low 90s or high 80s. By my senior year the local pro says I should be shooting in the 70s.

My question is what kind of scores will I need to play college golf. D1, D2, or D3. And also how should I go about getting a golf scholarship?

Thanks in advance

Golf vs The Cell Phone

Having a cell phone on the golf course is like having a gas can next to an open fire, your just asking for problems. I don’t know about you but my skin just crawls when a cell phone rings while I am  enjoying my golf game. If you have to take your phone out on the course, then you really don’t need to be out there. I believe that in the time it takes to play 18 holes of golf, there will be enough issues arise to slow and detain play. If you have read my profile, you will note that my goal is to keep the game fun and somewhat relaxing. So please everyone, step up and do your part, leave your phone in the car. If you can’t be without it, at least put it on vibrate.
